A random post

Would you look at that? I've reached 25 followers! Thank you so much everyone! You just made my day! :)

It would be really lovely if I could do a giveaway soon, but I have no idea how to go about it. Do people usually contact the person hosting the giveaway, or would I contact someone to sponsor a giveaway? :S

My homemade first pair of socks. They are beautiful.

I've been enjoying the Christmas season. Every year we kids do Secret Santas with each other, and we are going to be doing that this Sunday! Christmas is a week from Sunday! I can't believe it. It seems like it really crept up on me this year. I'm not ready yet! There's not even any snow! :(
Tomorrow night is the progressive dinner with the youth group that I "help" with (I'm one of the adults, but some of the kids and other adults are my friends, so it's not like this annoying thing I have to help with ;)) I'm pretty excited, since everybody gets dressed  up, and it's my first time going. Everyone always says that it's one of the best youth group events, and a bunch of the college kids are going to be there as well. :) So, hopefully it will be a fun evening.

Tonight's evening was fun. Three of my sisters sat around the dining room table writing Christmas cards while I played the Christmas station on Pandora from my laptop and made snowflakes. It was nice. And I took videos of them, and they hated it. XD

What do you like to do to prepare for/celebrate Christmas?

Knitting

I've been doing a lot of knitting lately. I have definitely been bit by the "knitting bug" as my mom would say. :) So I started knitting my first pair of socks! My mom had gotten me this expensive sock yarn a couple years ago, and I was saving it to make socks with! So when I finished whatever the last thing was that I had knit, I decided to tackle a pair of socks. :) I finished the first one last night, and I started the next one. It was fairly easy, although I did get a little confused with knitting the heel, so I got help from my mom. :)

This is what my relaxing day was: my camera, my knitting, my Bible, my thankful booklet (Link here), and my book (Persuasion) which is not pictured.

Gorgeousness. I completely fell in love with this yarn almost as soon as I had started knitting with it.

Knits

Do you like knitting? I love knitting. I hadn't made anything in a very long time, but when the power went out, I decided to start knitting again. And it was wonderful. :) I made one pair of fingerless gloves, and then I made a second pair while we were at our friends' house who had power when we didn't. (We just got power back today, after about ten days of being without electricity)
I got the pattern from Lily at Belle Fleur Photography (Link to pattern post), and they came out beautifully! :)
These are the two pairs that I made:

Sorry for the poor lighting and blurry shot on the last picture. I wanted to show you what the back looks like, and this is the only one I got. :P
But anyway, I made the blue pair out of some acrylic/polyester yarn that one of my friends had given me (I don't normally like polyester/acrylic yarn AT ALL, but this kind is really nice! It doesn't feel yucky like some other kinds do.), and I made the other pair out of wool. They both ended up really nice, and I really like the pattern! :) If you have any questions about the pattern or the fingerless gloves, please, leave comment! :)
